IMPACT ASSESSMENT:

Discussion:
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the "CxDbgPrint()" function (cxcmrt.dll) when creating a debug message string. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via an overly long string passed to the "Alert()" method. Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code. The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.0.0020 (ipswcom 1.0.0.1). Other versions may also be affected.

Impact:
Remote system access

Solution:
Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
